Luke smiled slowly. A genuine and pleasant smile formed on his face.
“I’m glad.” he said. He didn’t feel the need to say anything more.
Anette studied his facial expression, weighing past it to the true feelings behind it. When she felt that it wasn’t false, she exchanged it with a small one of her own. A small feeling of joy filled her to have a friend, a feeling which she hadn’t experienced for quite some time. “Thank you.”
Upon glancing to the side, she caught sight of the time. Had it really gotten to be midnight already? Her eyes grew in size slightly but soon returned to their normal appearance and stood up to put her mug in the sink.
